About us
Who produces Tribune Newsline and how we work.
Tribune Newsline is an independent English-language publication covering Punjab, Chandigarh, politics, sport, entertainment and health. We publish explainers and background rather than breaking-news churn: what a story means, how the underlying system works, and what a reader can check for themselves.
What we publish
- Punjab — agriculture, water, towns, education and the everyday economy of the state.
- Chandigarh — planning, sectors, green space and the city's modern heritage.
- Politics — how institutions work, how manifestos are written, how elections are administered.
- Sport — grassroots structures, hockey's place in the region, training and injury prevention.
- Entertainment — regional cinema, streaming, festivals and awards.
- Health — practical, evidence-aware guidance without promises or miracle claims.
Who we are
We are a small editorial team working with freelance contributors from Punjab and Chandigarh. Every piece carries a named section and a date, and every claim about a public institution is tied to a document that exists: a notification, an official release, a published report.
What we avoid
We do not publish invented numbers, unattributed "sources close to the matter", or predictions dressed as reporting. We do not reproduce press releases as articles. We do not run paid content that looks like editorial.
Independence
Tribune Newsline is not affiliated with a political party, a government body or a commercial operator in the sectors we cover. Advertising, when it appears, is labelled as advertising and kept apart from editorial pages.
Languages and scope
We publish in English. Where an official document exists only in Punjabi or Hindi, we translate the relevant passages and link to the original wording in the article text, not to outside sites.
How to reach us
Story tips, corrections and questions go through the contact page. How we choose and verify stories is described in our editorial policy.
