How did you prepare for this role? Have any challenges?
Prepare for Prema Shalini’s role as Archana Puran Singh, it was not very difficult to prepare because she had leveled it up before her performance. Certainly my personality will be in it, but I would like that the characteristics of this character remain intact in the same way. How does it feel to be a part of this historical show ‘Mrs. Shrimati Re’, which has been extremely popular on television in the nineties?
It is a matter of honor to be a part of this show. It has always been my favorite comedy show and it really feels great when I become part of this official original remake.
You are known to play serious roles. Why did you accept this comic character?
Everything happens for the first time. Earlier, I had received offers for comic roles but I did not find it interesting. When I was asked for this character, I said yes for this without thinking. This is a special role, which Archana Puran Singh played. Since I was comedy for the first time, I really wanted to see myself in this role. At the same time, I was very excited for the audience’s response.
Tell about your role.
The most important of Prema Shalini is that her style of liking herself is very cute. She is an actress by profession and she does not like any other way she likes herself. According to him, everything should be absolutely accurate, from hair to hair, to makeup and clothes. Prema Shalini is very honest about her work and she has a lovely husband, whom she loves so much but sometimes does not take it seriously.
How is your co-ordination with your co-stars?
My co-ordination with your co-stars is amazing. This is the first time that I am working with them and they really helped me a lot. They are all people related to comedy and their acting is excellent. He has really helped a lot so far. We have become like a family.
Who is your inspiration in comedy?
I do not think I have any inspiration in comedy, because I never thought I would work in this jointman. To say that my co-stars are my biggest inspiration, because each of them has their own different style and keeps them motivated by seeing them everyday.
What was your favorite character in the original ‘Mrs Mrs’ of this show?
My favorite character in the earlier show was Keshav Kulkarni. She loves Prema Shalini and she keeps on pushing her, influencing her. She gives him a lot of attention and loves him so much love.
What is the experience of working with your on-screen husband, Suresh Menon alias Dilruba?
I know Suresh Menon for a long time. This is the first time that we are working together, but we have a very good rapport. He is very quiet, more forward and happy to help, so he enjoys working with them. He is a great artist, which has helped me learn a lot. Now the most interesting thing between Suresh and me is that wherever we meet in any event, we call each other as Doll and Dilruuba.

Especially when we are rehearsing something, Suresh says something and after that my laughter does not stop. Also, I’m doing a comedy show for the first time and it’s really fun for me. This show is completely like the first one, just faces are different. That show was absolutely accurate, so we kept the script, dialog, everything just like that. Therefore, the creations have changed, but the guess is the same.

The audience will get an opportunity to refresh old memories. Our show is simple and fun, and we are bringing in original versions of ‘Mrs Mrs’ in our own style.
