Amritsar, September 13, 2017: In order to improve services for students, Prof. (Dr.) Jaspal Singh Sandhu, Vice Chancellor of Guru Nanak Dev University has launched e-Transcripts (online transcripts/verification system), a web-based system to process online transcripts/verification requests from the candidates anywhere in India or abroad and the candidates can pay the fee through Debit Card /Credit Card/Net Banking.
This portal is developed by Computer Section (Accounts) of the University as per instructions of the Vice Chancellor. The Vice Chancellor has adopted e-Transcripts portal to improve student satisfaction; to achieve operational process efficiencies; to reduce time delay; to provide real-time transcript information in a portal environment.
The overall previous process is buried in inefficiency and time delay. This was done in person using a paper request that was then forwarded to the clerical staff of the certificate section at GNDU. During peak periods, the University received as many as 50 requests daily. The candidate needs to visit certificate section before filling application request and get the requisite fee manually calculated by the certificate section and then pay the same at the Cash Counter. The new system will automatically calculate the fee based on the number of Certificates submitted online by the candidate. Using this portal, the candidates can track the status of their applications online, which was not possible in the previous manual system. In the online transcript/verification system, no manual verification of the certificates is required which will reduce the processing time considerably.
Most requests will be processed within two working days. The e-transcript system will also reduce the manpower as the system will automatically allocate application Id along with date & time for each application received through the system. The pending number of applications can be tracked along with reasons of pendency The concerned head of Branch can view online the status of each and every application. Once the transcript is dispatched to the address mentioned in the online application form, an email is automatically sent to the candidate.
