UBA Cell of MCM creates awareness regarding Sustainability and Swachhta at adopted villages

Chandigarh 29:- Unnat Bharat Abhiyan (UBA) of Mehr Chand Mahajan DAV College for Women, Sector 36-A, Chandigarh organized an Awareness Drive on тАЬEnvironment and SustainabilityтАЭ at Village Buterla and Bhadheri.┬а A team of 22 students along with teachers conducted a rally in the village and discussed the importance of afforestation and environment-friendly practices with the residents of the village. People were made aware of the need to use different coloured bins and minimise plastic waste. They were also acquainted with the 3Rs: Reduce, Reuse and Recycle. Posters were made by the students to attract people to the rally. Dr. Rishu, Dr. Arshdeep and Dr. Amandeep, coordinators of the Drive, also shared valuable inputs regarding the need to save the environment with the residents.

The Maloya wing of the Unnat Bharat Abhiyan Cell of the College conducted a public awareness campaign to prevent the spread of Dengue, Malaria and eye flu in Maloya village. The volunteers emphasized personal hygiene, clean surroundings, not allowing water to stagnate anywhere,┬аkeeping the houses airy,┬аetc. to prevent diseases. Around 23 student volunteers along with the teachers in charge participated in the activity. Dr. Amardeep Kaur and Dr. Saravjit Kaur, coordinators of the campaign, ensured the smooth conduct of the activities.┬аThe principal of the college, Dr. Nisha Bhargava appreciated the endeavours of the members of the┬аUnnat Bharat Abhiyan (UBA) Committee of the college. She added that such initiatives express the commitment of the institution towards sustainable and holistic growth of rural India as envisaged by the mission of Unnat Bharat Abhiyan.
