- ‘NEKI DI DEEWAR’ TO BE DEDICATED AT TWO PLACES IN NAKODAR ON MONDAY
Nakodar (Jalandhar), December 16,2018 ( By SK.Vyas) : In a unique initiative aimed at roping in help for the needy people to protect them from wrath of cold weather, two young IAS officers have come up with a noble project of setting ‘Neki Di Deewar’ at two places Nakodar wherein people were being encouraged to donate the things which could be used by underprivileged sections of the society.
Both the officers, the Sub Divisional Magistrate Nakodar Amit Kumar Panchal and Assistant Commissioner (Under Training) Himanshu Jain, currently officiating as Executive Officer Nakodar Nagar Council, have taken the lead of setting up this wall at two places in the city viz. Bhalla Colony, Jalandhar road and Opposite Bank of Baroda near Dr BR Ambedkar Chowk. At the wall the people have been exhorted to generously donate for helping the poor and needy people in this spine-chilling cold. The people have been called upon to donate at this wall from where any needy person could collect it as per their requirement.
Divulging the details, both the Sub Divisional Magistrate and Assistant Commissioner said that the single aim was to ensure that the underprivileged sections of society could be helped during the winter season. They said that during the cold weather disadvantaged sections of society require shoes, clothes, blankets’ and other things to prevent them for the wrath of season. They further said that a large number of philanthropists do want to donate the things but they do not find an adequate platform where the things could actually reach the needy people.
So, the Sub Divisional Magistrate and Assistant Commissioner said that this wall has been set up to provide a genuine platform where donations of people could go in right hands. Exhorting the people to come forward for this noble cause they said that it would help in protecting many precious lives during the winter season. Expressing gratitude to the Deputy Commissioner Jalandhar Varinder Kumar Sharma for his valuable guidance in the execution of the project, both the officers said that ‘Neki Di Deewar’ would be dedicated to people from tomorrow. Likewise, they also thanked President of Nagar Council Nakodar Ajay Batara, social worker Mohit Bhalla and JE Ajay Verma for extending a helping hand in this noble cause.
