In disconsolate news. Irfan Khan passed away on Wednesday in Mumbai’s Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital at the age of 54 years. Irfan Khan was admitted to the ICU on April 28 following a colon infection. However, the actor’s health deteriorated, and he breathed his last on April 29 surrounded by his family.
Irfan Khan’s health had been on the decline ever since he was diagnosed with neuroendocrine cancer in 2018. The tumor can target various parts of the body. He had been traveling to London frequently for treatment. Irfan Khan was even unable to promote his last release, Angrezi Medium, owing to ill health.
Irfan Khan was a man of minimal words and an actor of silent expressions, with his intense eyes and amazing acting skills. It’s extremely disheartening that we have to bring the news of his passing away. It’s a big loss to the film industry and to his fans.
Survived by his wife Sutapa and two sons- Ayan and Babil, Irfan Khan left for heavenly abode, leaving behind the true legacy of his own. His last film Angrezi Medium was forced to stop playing after theatres were shut down due to the coronavirus pandemic. It was later released on online platforms. It’s available on Disney+Hotstar.
