Mumbai, April 30, 2020: Today morning at 8:54, the legendary actor breathed his last and left for his heavenly abode. His family was by his side when he passed away.
Rishi Kapoor’s funeral was taken place today in the evening at Chandanwadi crematorium in Mumbai’s Marine Lines. His mortal remains were taken from HN Reliance hospital for the funeral at 4 pm.
But, his daughter Riddhima Kapoor resides in Delhi and couldn’t meet her father. Today, she has requested the authorities to make arrangements for her and her husband to visit Mumbai for her father’s last rites. Riddhima has sought permission from the Ministry of Home Affairs to make the arrangements so that she can visit her family in these tough times and witness her father’s last rites. The airports have been shut due to the nationwide lockdown and there are stringent guidelines that need to be in place before crossing the border. Reportedly after Riddhima’s permission, the Delhi police are making arrangements for the same, His daughter, Riddhima Kapoor Sahni could not attend his last rites as she is currently stuck in Delhi owing to the lockdown. The Sahni family, in all probability, might leave by Mumbai by road after proper travel permits were taken.
Neetu Kapoor, Rima Jain, Manoj Jain, Armaan Jain, Aadar Jain, Annissa Jain, Rajeev Kapoor, Randhir Kapoor, Saif Ali Khan, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Bimal Parekh, Natasha Nandan, Abhishek Bachchan, Dr Tarang, Alia Bhatt, Ayaan Mukherjee, Jai Ram, Rahul Rawail and Rohit Dhawan have been permitted by the Mumbai police to attend the same.
The actor is survived by his wife Neetu and children- Ranbir Kapoor and Riddhima Kapoor.
