Jalandhar, January 26,2020: Lyallpur Khalsa College for Women, Jalandhar celebrated the Republic Day in the College Campus. Dr. Navjot, a Principal, hoisted the National Flag.
She also addressed the students to explain the importance of the Republic Day and stated that the Republic Day marks the date on which the Constitution of India came into effect. She emphasized that as our Constitution enlists the fundamental rights, duties and directive principles, it becomes our duty to follow these directives and implement them in our lives.
She also explained the importance of justice, liberty and equality whichare proclaimed by our constitution too. She said that India has hard-earned the status of being a democratic, secular and sovereign state and many communal forces, today, are working to spread hatred, violence and trying to segregate its united citizens. She also asserted that we should not let go of easily the all-priceless sacrifices made by our leaders and patriots to make this country a corruption free country, a country where its citizens are literate, equal and not discriminated on any ground.We should understand our responsibilities towards our nation and pledge to become its ideal citizens. The faculty members and non-teaching staff also marked their presence on the occasion.
