Ravneet Singh Bittu thanks Capt Amaninder Singh in linking Expressway

Ludhiana, June 9, 2020: Ravneet Singh Bittu MP  today thanked Punjab Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh for taking up the issue of linking Halwara with Delhi-Amritsar-Katra expressway with National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) Chairman  Sukhbir Singh Sandhu. Bittu said that he had earlier written a letter in this regard to the Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh as well as the Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways  Nitin Gadkari.

It is pertinent to mention that 161.2703-acre land has been acquired by the state government for the construction of the international civil terminal at Halwara. He said that when Halwara gets linked to the Delhi-Amritsar-Katra expressway, a large number of pilgrims would be able to use Halwara International Airport for paying obeisance at different places of religious importance in the area.

He said that this expressway was initially planned as Delhi-Katra, but now that it would also have connectivity with Amritsar, it would pass from Nakodar via Sultanpur Lodhi, Khadoor Sahib, Goindwal Sahib. With this expressway, the time to travel from Amritsar to the national capital’s Indira Gandhi International Airport would reduce to around four hours from the current time of nearly eight hours.

He said that this expressway will connect the holy cities of five gurus of Sikhism.

Ravneet Singh Bittu assured that this project would help in boosting much-needed tourism as well as business activity in the area.
