Punjab ensure revival of Industry in post Lockdown period Sunder Shyan

Jalandhar, June 4, 2020 (SK.Vyas):Punjab  Industry Minister Punjab Sunder Sham Arora assured the industrialists that under ‘Mission Fateh’ the Punjab government led by Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh would ensure the revival of state’s industry in post lockdown period.

Chairing a meeting with the industrialists here at the District Administrative Complex, the Minister, accompanied by MLAs  Sushil Kumar Rinku, Rajinder Beri, Chaudhary Surinder Singh and  Avtar Singh Bawa Henry, said that Covid -19 pandemic has given a severe blow to the industry and economic growth across the globe. He said that the state government was committed for putting the economic and industrial growth of the state in a high growth trajectory. Arora assured they industry their interests would be safeguarded at every cost by the state government even in the post lockdown period.

The Minister said that under ‘Mission Fateh’ a detailed plan has been chalked out for the resurgence of the state industry. He said that the Chief Minister was constantly in touch with the entrepreneurs to ensure that all their genuine demands were fulfilled. Arora envisioned that due to the strenuous efforts of the state government, Punjab would soon emerge as a front runner industrial state in the country.

Arora also announced that in order to give a boost to industrial development in Punjab, the state government would soon set up four new Industrial parks in SAS Nagar, Ludhiana, Fatehgarh Sahib and Bathinda. He said that these industrial parks would play a pivotal role in the Industrial growth in the state. He said that the state government would focus on the development of micro and MSME industries in these parks along with others.

Describing the industry as the backbone of the economy, the Minister said that in order to give reprieve to the industry the state government was constantly flagging up the issue of waiving off six months loans of the entrepreneurs. He said that he had been personally taking up the matter with the Union government to give much-needed succour to the industry of the state. He expressed hope that the state government would leave no stone unturned for giving respite to the industrialists.

Dwelling on another issue, the Minister said that a large of migrants have gone back to their respective states. However, he said that most of them were now willing to come back to Punjab for becoming partners in the growth of the state so the state government has urged the Union government to run special trains for bringing back the labourers who were willing to come back. Arora said that every effort would be made to put the industry back on track.

The Minister further said that besides giving a boost to industrial growth the state government was also focusing on opening new vistas of employment for youth. He said that special courses for skill education have been introduced in government ITIs for creating a pool of skilled labor for catering to the need of the local industry.  Arora said that this would help in further giving impetus to industrial growth.

Meanwhile, the Minister also lauded the concerted efforts made by the district administration led by Deputy Commissioner Jalandhar Varinder Kumar Sharma and Commissioner of Police Gurpreet Singh Bhullar to save the people from the scourge of Corona Virus. He said that the officers have set a benchmark in public service by performing their service diligently and dedicatedly. Arora said that this has helped in giving much-needed respite to the people.

The Minister announced the starting of sewage work in a Focal point. He said that works worth more than Rs 6 crore have also been started in Sports and Surgical Complex.
