Phagwara police arrest Eight assailants for obstructing public servant in discharge of duty
Kapurthala Dec 22, 2020: Phagwara police arrested 8 assailants and booked them for using criminal force to deter and obstruct public servant in discharge of duty, causing hurt to a public servant, wrongful confinement, criminal intimidation, rioting as member of unlawful assembly.
A police party from Police Station Satnampura, Phagwara, District Kapurthala, consisting of ASI Parwinder Singh, ASI Bhagwant Singh, ASI Lakhwinder Singh, L/Ct Simranjeet Kaur conducted a raid to arrest the accused in FIR No. 31 Dt. 09-04-2017 Under Section 420, 448, 506, 465, 471, 467, 468,120B of the IPC under P.S. Satnampura today.
The main accused in the above said FIR are Dalvir chand S/o Joginder pal, Manpreet Singh s/o Joginderpal, Amarjot Kaur Who Dalvir chand, all residents of Narang shahpur near new Mansa Devi Nagar, Satnampura, Phgawara. When the Police party reached their residence and intimated the accused about the arrest, 8 individuals, including the above mentioned accused, overpowered, detained and assaulted ASI Parwinder Singh and vandalized the police party’s vehicle No. PB09-U-6490. ASI Parwinder Singh was also strangulated with a rope.
The other accomplices started pelting stones on the police party to evade their arrest. The accomplices have been identified as Joginderpal s/o Darshan Ram, Arun Kumar s/o Joginderpal, Sunita w/o Joginderpal, Arti d/o Joginderpal and Sandeep Kaur w/o Arun Kumar.
On getting the information, SP Phagwara and DSP Phagwara immediately reached the spot. All 8 assailants were arrested on the spot. The accused have been booked for using criminal force to deter and obstruct public servant in discharge of duty, causing hurt to a public servant, wrongful confinement, criminal intimidation, rioting as member of unlawful assembly. An FIR No. 149 Dt. 22-12-2020 Under Section 307, 382, 332, 186, 353, 342, 427, 506, 148, 149 of the Indian Penal Code ( IPC) PS Satnampura has been lodged against the above mentioned accused Further investigation is on.
