Ludhiana, June 10, 2020: The Punjab government is making efforts to save residents from the danger of COVID 19 through its Mission Fateh. PAU Pensioners’ Association and members of the ex-employees’ union contributed a sum of Rs 4.51 lakh to the Chief Minister’s COVID 19 relief fund.
The executive members of the association, Zila Ram Bansal, P.L. Dua, Satish Sood, B.B. Sharma and Nityanand presented the donation cheque to the Vice-Chancellor, Dr Baldev Singh Dhillon. The money has been contributed online by 180 members, prominent among these is PAU’s former Estate Officer, B.B. Sharma who has contributed a sum of one lakh rupees. 26 women members have also contributed towards the noble cause.
Vice-Chancellor and Padam Shri awardee, Dr Baldev Singh Dhillon, while expressing gratitude, applauded the pensioners and other members for their compassion and pro-activeness during the ongoing pandemic, there by setting an example for others to follow. It is worth mentioning that the PAU pensioners’ association had earlier, in the month of March, contributed a sum of Rs 51000 to the CM relief fund for COVID- 19.
