Jalandhar : May 24 (By Madhur Vyas) :To enable the employees working in the Shops and Commercial Establishments situated in 32-Assembly Constituency of Shahkot, Distt Jalandhar to exercise their franchise in the Bye-Election to Shahkot Assembly constituency on 28-05-2018 (Monday) a paid holiday has been declared by the Department of labour within the jurisdiction of said Constituency.
An official spokesman said that in exercise of the powers conferred by second proviso to sub-section (1) of Section 10 of the Punjab Shops and Commercial Establishments Act, 1958 (Punjab Act No. 15 of 1958) The department of Labour has fixed Monday, falling on 28-05-2018 to be a ‘closed day’ for the employees working in Shops and Commercial Establishments revenue District of Jalandhar and who are voters of 32-Shahkot Assembly Constituency.
