Amritsar/Jalandhar, October 03, 2018 ( By SK.Vyas): The Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar signed an MOU with the JAMK University of Applied Sciences, Finland to promote academic collaboration between these two prominent Universities. The MOU was signed on 3rd of October, 2018 in the presence of distinguished representatives of Guru Nanak Dev University, Prof. (Dr.) Kamaljit Singh, Dean Academic Affairs, Prof. Karanjeet Singh Kahlon, Registrar and Prof. Partap Kumar Pati, Nodal Person, International Collaboration Committee and Dr. Matti Hirsilä, Head of Global Competence and Exports, JAMK School of Business, Finland. On this occasion, the Heads of Punjab School of Economics and University School of Financial Studies and members of International Collaboration Committee, GNDU were also present.
The JAMK University of Applied Sciences, Finland is an international higher education institution with nearly 8500 students, including many from over 70 countries. The School of Business of JAMK offers both SMEs and the public sector solutions with a core focus on improving business competitiveness, promoting new business concepts and services particularly in the fields of business development, service business and business intelligence.
This MOU signed today between the two Universities will formalise the exchange of information on academic, research and curriculum matters and exchange of faculty, researchers and students on a reciprocal basis. It will also facilitate the exchange of information on teaching materials and the development of global curricula. Further, under this MOU, joint short-term educational programmes, seminars, conferences, workshops and summer/winter schools will be organized. The MOU also has a provision for the joint mentorship of students in areas of mutual interest and expertise. This initiative will encourage a dual degree programme that would be worked out in the interest of students of both the Universities.
The Guru Nanak Dev University under the leadership of the current Vice Chancellor, Prof. (Dr.) Jaspal Singh is actively collaborating with reputed international universities/institutions to strengthen the academic programmes of the University. The present collaboration will take the University to new heights.
