JALANDHAR, JULY 2: Tightening noose on the Proclaimed Offenders by the Jalandhar Rural Police, with the arrest of eight Proclaimed Offenders (PO’s) the Jalandhar Rural Police on yesterday by various Police Stations of Jalandhar District claimed to have been successful in arresting the alleged POs.
This was stated by Gurpreet Singh Bhullar, Senior Superintendent of Police, Jalandhar in a Press Statement issued here today.He said Arpit Shukla, Inspector General Of Police, Zone-II.Jalandhar has issued instructions all SHO’s along with the list of Proclaimed Offenders to launched a special campaign to give top priority to arrest proclaimed offenders (PO’s) under the campaign SHO’s of all Police Stations have been instructed to keep an eye on them(PO’s) and conduct raids to immediate arrest them with their stern efforts.
Bhullar said out of total 8 POs,2 arrested under Police Station Lambra,1 at Maksudan,1 at Mehatpur, 2 at Shahkot, and 1 under Nakodar PoliceStation.
He said now the figure has risen to 68 March 16,2017 till July 1 of the arrest of POs.
SSP Bhullar said, ” In its ongoing drive against the menace of drugs, the Jalandhar (Rural) Police during the period from 10-3-2017 to 1-7-2017 registered 502 cases under various Sections of the NDPS Act and a total of 547 accused (493)/Male and 54 Female) have been arrested for whose possession total recovery of 21 KG 174 Gram Opium.1078 KG 45Grm Poppy Husk,02 KG 227 gm Heroin,34 KG GM 500 MG Intoxicant Powder,8 Kg Ganga,1688 Intoxicant Injections,7048 Intoxicant Tablets,13245 Intoxicant Capsules and 9 Injections/Syringes have been recovered.
