Jalandhar, April 18, 2018 (By TNL.Bureau): In order to make the people aware of the traffic rules, the Jalandhar Commissionerate Police would organize 29thRoad Safety Week from April 23rd to 30th.
Assistant Commissioner of Police (Traffic) HS. Bhalla said that during the week the traffic Police would make the people, drivers of heavy/ medium vehicles and auto rickshaws about the traffic rules. He said that besides educating the people about the traffic rules, this would also help in streamlining the traffic system in the city thereby reducing the accidents in the city. Bhalla said that during the week special programs would be held at various points across the city to make the people aware about the traffic norms.
The ACP said that awareness program for an auto rickshaw, manual rickshaw and taxi drivers would be held at City Railway Station on March 23rd. Likewise, he said that a seminar for drivers of trucks/ tractor trolleys would be organized on March 24th at Lamma Pind Chowk. Bhalla said that on April 25th an awareness march would be organized by school students from BMC Chowk to Skylark Chowk via Namdev Chowk.
The ACP said that free pollution check-up camp of vehicles would be organized at Dada Motor BSF Chowk on April 26th and free medical camp for drivers at Chara Mandi Nakodar Road on April 27th. He said that on April 28th a seminar would be organized under the DAV College flyover to make autorickshaw drivers aware of traffic rules and similar seminar would be organized at Bus Stand on April 29th Bhalla said that people would be made aware of traffic rules through pamphlets and audio-system on April 30th.
