….. AAP candidate attacked by Congress goons in Lohian Khas
Jalandhar, February 13, 2021 :The Aam Aadmi Party ( AAP ) has strongly condemned the attack on the AAP candidate Rajni Bala at Lohian Khas Municipal Council by the Congress goons. In a joint statement, AAP ‘s Jalandhar district rural president Principal Prem Kumar and district urban president Rajwinder Kaur said that being terrified of the defeat in the local bodies’ elections, the Congress party now wanted to loot the elections. They said that last night, the Congress ‘goons’ attacked the residence of AAP candidate Rajni Bala from ward number 7 of Lohian Khas. Meanwhile, the miscreants smashed the lights of the house, intimidated and pressurised her for not contesting the elections.
They said that by breaking the lights of the house, the Congressmen had given a signal that if the AAP candidate contested the elections, she would have to pay a heavy price. The leaders said that as soon as the incident came to light, a large number of AAP volunteers rushed to the spot and police were called. They alleged that instead of taking action against the Congressmen, the police started threatening the AAP volunteers stating that they were ruining the atmosphere. They said that incidents of hooliganism by Congressmen were coming to light all over Punjab. “The traditional parties are afraid that a new change is being introduced by a third party which is pro-people. That is why the Congress wants to spoil the elections by intimidating the Aam Aadmi Party candidates,” they added.
The leaders further said that the Aam Aadmi Party was not afraid of the Congress goons. “Our main objective is to bring forward pro-people politics and the maneuvers being adopted by the Congress could not be stopped,” they added. They said that the Aam Aadmi Party would record a big victory. The leaders said that the Aam Aadmi Party had lodged a complaint with the Punjab State Election Commission against the bullying by the Congress party and demanded that paramilitary forces be deployed in Punjab to ensure free and fair conduct of elections.
