Chandigarh, January 29,2030 ( By YS.Rana): Haryana women ruled the mat as their five wrestlers
emerged winners in their respective categories on the second day of
All India Civil Services Wrestling Championship at Sports Complex,
Manimajra, here today. Out of seven finals decided Haryana won five
and Maharashtra claimed two. Roshni Devi from Haryana and Jyoti from
N.C.T. Delhi was in limelight with their splendid performances.
Mamta (55 kg), Anita (57 kg), Manju (59 kg), Rachna (62 kg) and Roshni
Devi (65 kg) clinched gold for Haryana who is poised to lift the
trophy.
Priyanka (50 kg) and Priyanka Yerudkar (53 kg) will take home gold
medals after beating respective opponents in their categories.
100 women contestants competed in 10 different weight categories for
medals. Many renowned women wrestlers were seen in action. More than
100 women wrestlers from different states participated today.
Chandigarh DIG Omvir Singh Bishnoi was the chief guest today
and distributed the prizes.
Results: Women (freestyle): 50 kg: 1. Priyanka Gire (Maharashtra), 2
Amita Kumari (NCT, Delhi), 3 Jagwanti ( C.S. Delhi), 4 Pteeti
(Haryana).
53 kg: 1 Priyanka Yerudkar (Maharashtra), 2 Jyoti (C.S. Delhi), 3
Sharda ( Haryana), 4 Kiran (N.C.T Delhi).
55 kg: 1 Mamta (Haryana), 2 Devika (C.S. Delhi), 3 Sarwwati Sahu
(Chhattisgarh), 4 Amrit Kaur (N.C.T. Delhi).
57 kg: 1 Anita (Haryana), 2 Meenu Dabas (N.C.T. Delhi), 3
Pushpalatha (Karnataka), 4 Sarabjeet (C.S. Delhi).
59 kg: 1 Manju (Haryana), 2 Sanjeeta (C.S. Delhi), 3 Savita (N.C.T.
Delhi), 4 Manjamma (Karnataka).
62 kg: 1 Rachna (Haryana), 2 Alpana Kariti (C.S. Delhi), 3 Chethana R.
(Karnataka), 4 Dr. Hyatt Dhariwal (N.C.T. Delhi).
65 kg: 1 Roshni Devi (Haryana), 2 Preeti (C.S. Delhi), 3 Kiran Sudan
(N.C.T. Delhi), 4 Kiran Sudan (N.C.T. Delhi).
