FIESTA – 2017 AT HMV

JALANDHAR,FEBRUARY 18: Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya organized its annual gala fete ‘FIESTA-2017’ on Saturday. Vani Vij, an illustrious industrialist and Dr. Jagjit Kaur, Director, Youth Welfare Department, GNDU, Amritsar inaugurated the fair , releasing the colourful balloons in the open air and declaring the fete open. Justice (Retd.) N.K. Sud, Vice President DAV CMC and Chairman Local Committee, Arvind Ghai, Secretary DAV CMC, members of Local Committee Kundan Lal Aggarwal, S.N. Mayor, Dr. Pawan Gupta, Smt Ashok Paruthi, Surendra Seth, Dr. S.K. Arora, Dr. Manoj Kumar, Principal Ravinder Sharma and Ramesh Sharma, District. President BJP wer also present on the occasion occasion.
Dr.Ajay Sareen Principal HMV accorded a warm welcome to all and acquainted them with outstanding achievements of the college. Dr. Jagjit Kaur motivated the students for seeking such education which would also give them opportunities for personality development. The students of the college presented a folk song and group dance on the occasion. A trade fair was also organized by Commerce department with unique stalls like ‘Jewellery Joint’, ‘Handicraft Haat’, ‘Grooming Station’, ‘Knowledge Point’ and ‘Apparel Spot’ etc. Principal Dr. Ajay Sareen congratulated the Commerce department for organizing the trade fair. She said that it would give the students of commerce department opportunity to obtain practical training of their field.
‘Tiny Steps’ Baby Show and ‘Guiding Stars’ Grandparents show were the special attractions of this day. Chief guest Dr. Jagjit Kaur gave away the prizes to the winners of the show. The students and their family members flocked to college in gay and joyous mood. The nicely decorated stalls offered a wide variety of eatables like Chinese, Italian, Indian, Punjabi and South Indian. The music corner attracted a large number of students with fervour to dance and rock. There was a huge rush at the Lucky Dip stall inviting people to come and try their luck. Swings and Joy rides attracted huge rush from morning till the end.
Fashion Show was organized on this occasion. After passing through various rounds, the titles of Miss Fete 2017, Miss Elegance, Miss Stylish, Miss Ultimate, Miss Pearl, Miss Punjaban were conferred on Tavleen, Ramneet, Kamakshi, Amisha, Divya, Harpreet Kaur respectively.
Eminent singers Sarabjit Cheema, Gurjit and Charanjit enthralled the audience with their melodious rendering of Punjabi numbers thereby adding gaiety to the fair.
In the evening session, the Chief Guest Aruna Sharma w/o Rakesh Sharma M/s Priya Rubber and Plastic Industries, Jalandhar and Ramesh Sharma made their presence for the Raffle Draw. Principal Dr. Ajay Sareen honoured the guests with mementoes, planters and paintings specially made by Botany, FD and Fine Arts departments.
Principal Dr. Ajay Sareen congratulated the winners of the Lucky Draw and gave away the prizes. Jyoti Kaul, Navroop, Dr. Ekta Khosla and Pankaj Jyoti were the Incharges of FIESTA 2017. The stage was conducted by Navroop, Dr. Anjana Bhatia and Nidhi Kochhar.
