New Delhi, 10 March, 2019 – Senior Trade Unionist & Permanent Invitee Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee(PPCC) Mr.M.M.Singh Cheema has welcomed the move of PPCC and senior leadership in requesting Dr.Manmohan Singh Former Prime Minister of India to request him to contest forthcoming Lok Sabha Elections from Amritsar in Punjab which will give great opportunity to people of Punjab to send in their Iconic representative to National Politics.
Mr.Cheema said this was his initiative taken during his September 2018 meeting with him and repeated the same in last week meeting with Dr.Manmohan Singh.
Mr.Cheema further said this was Dr.ManMohan Singh world renowned economist only who had the courage to denounce demonetization move of Modi Government terming it a disaster and taking GDP down by 2% which proved true subsequently when entire political set up was rolling under Modi Wave.
Mr.Cheema said it is always better late than never situation while requesting Dr.Singh to enter electoral arena despite his advanced age and his choice of retirement from active politics, this move will be a morale booster for congressmen and will have a cascade effect on results in Lok Sabha Elections.
