CBI arrests a Dub Divisional Officer Defence Estate Office and Two of FCI in Separate Bribery Cases

 New Delhi Feb 19,2021:  The Central Bureau of Investigation has arrested a Sub-Divisional Officer-I working in Defence Estates Office, Ahmedabad Cantonment(Gujarat) and two officials including a Manager of FCI, District-Ludhiana (Punjab) in separate cases of bribery.

            The first case was registered against a Sub–Divisional Officer-I, Defence Estates Office, Ahmedabad Cantonment(Gujarat) on the allegations of demanding bribe of Rs.50,000/- from the complainant towards releasing his 03 vehicles which were confiscated by the accused. CBI laid a trap and caught the accused red handed while demanding & accepting bribe of Rs.50,000/- from the complainant. Searches were conducted at the premises of accused which led to recovery of some incriminating documents, including property documents, details of bank accounts etc.

            The arrested accused will be produced today before the Special Judge, CBI Cases, Ahmedabad.

            In other case, CBI has arrested Manager(Quality Control) and a TA, both of FCI in a bribery case of Rs.50,000/-. A case was registered on a complaint alleging therein that the Manager(Quality Control), FCI, FSD, Mullanpur Dakha, District Ludhiana was demanding bribe of Rs.50,000/- for checking and stacking of complainant’s rice consignment at PSWC Godown, Kailpur, Ludhiana.

            CBI laid a trap and caught the Manager(Quality Control), FCI, Ludhiana while demanding & accepting bribe of Rs.50,000/-. During investigation, it was revealed that the bribe amount was to be shared with TA, FCI.  Therefore, the said TA was also caught.  Searches were conducted at the residences of both the accused at Ludhiana.

            The accused were produced in the Court of Special Judge, CBI Cases, Mohali(Punjab) and remanded to one day of Police Custody.
