By SK.Vyas

Jalandhar, September 10: Anonymous Theatre Group staged two short plays at Virsa Vihar Jalandhar last night ‘Awaaz Ki Neelam’ and ‘Marnoprant’.

Let us talk about the story of dramas, in the first drama ‘Aawaz Ka Neelam’, the play depicted the story of a 40-50-year-old  middle aged person is sitting in his room, who is living in a poor condition. His everything has been sold out because of his dream and passion i.e. his newspaper Awaaz. But now he is going to sell his beloved newspaper, as his wife is in the hospital and near to death. There is the eye of a wolf on the Awaaz, i.e. of a big dealer Bazuriya.  When he comes to buy a newspaper, the owner of the newspaper Diwakar will first sell the newspaper and both of them share the challenges and the compromises of the media and the journalists. Bazuriya insults him and then Diwakar signed the deal in compulsion as his wife on the death bed of death.

Later the news of the death of the wife comes on the phone. Now Diwakar doesn’t want to sell his ‘Awaaz’. But now it’s quite late as the deal is final. Then Bajraiya gave a blow in his abdomen. Diwakar is crying for the auction of his voice, his newspaper.

The drama shows how the media is in the control of big houses and they are not allowing the distinct voice to appear.

‘MARNOPRANT’

The second drama ‘Maranopant’ is a trilangular story in which two people are standing on the beach and they are sharing some moments with a woman. When the play flows on, it appears from their dialogues that the woman has died. One person is her husband and another one is her lover with whom she had a extra marital affair.

The play or both of the men didn’t condemn the women, even they are possessive about her feelings, moments shared with her. But the beauty from the narrative comes out, when the subtext shows that the man is desolate without woman. The play reminds me the Huraki Murakami’s Men Without Women and the harsh beauty of bleak emptiness. Solitude and aloneness varies from the one expression to another.

The Anonymous Theatre Group organized the two shows of plays. The first was at 4:00 pm and the second one was at 7:00 pm.Both of the plays were directed by the Happy Kalizpuria and acted by the Prince Brar and the Director himself.

Amit Jindal was the Production Manager,Music design given byh Nivesh Rampal, light designed by Rahul Mehra and the Back Stage help by Kirti,Sagar and Balraj.

Channi Kakulia, Office Secretary of the  Virsa Vihar, said that next play would be on September 16, to be played by ‘Parvez Rang Manch’Phagwara, directedby Balwinder Singh.
