CHANDIGARH–COVID 19 has also provide an opportunity to the police which have always been under the fire range of the public to its close by number of humane acts the force has been performing for the past two months.

An humane act performed by the SSP, Chandigarh, is another

act of gratitude. On May 16, five students from Laddakh were stranded

in Khuda Lahora at Chandigarh. They had to reach Chandigarh bus stand for screening from where they were to leave for Jammu and  there after to their home town Laddakh.

Nilambari Jagdamble, SSP, Chandigarh, received a tweet

from an advocate  p m Saturday requesting therein to help the stranded students and tagged the SSP Chandigarh Nilambari Jagdamble. The SSP tweeted in no time–“PCR will help them to reach”. Three PCRs vans reached  Khuda Lahora within no time and the students along with their complete bags and baggage weresafely dropped at Sector 17 for their onwards journey to their home town.

Gaurav Goel, Advocate and President of Progressive Lawyers Forum  stated, when Police and administration join hands to set things right, this is how public benefits. On just a request to Nilambari Jagdamble,  police takes the charge and drops Laddakh students safely adhering to all norms of Social Distancing. On behalf of students I express my gratitude to Chandigarh Police for this kind

gesture.

Really, such acts on the part of the police force will change the mindset of public and brings both closer.
