Jalandhar, January 30,2020 : Deputy Commissioner Jalandhar Varinder Kumar Sharma today asked the officers/ officials of the district administration to adopt a sensitive approach while dealing with the issues pertaining to minorities and weaker sections of society.
Chairing a workshop organized by regional centre of Mahatma Gandhi State Institute of Public Administration here today, the Deputy Commissioner said that the forefathers of Indian Constitution have carefully incorporated special provisions for safeguarding the interests of the Minorities and weaker sections of society. He said that it was bounden duty of every government servant to render selfless service for the well being of this strata of society. Sharma said that this workshop was a step forward for sensitising the government officers/ officials for this noble cause.
The Deputy Commissioner said that the minorities and weaker sections were an inseparable part of the society and all of us should work dedicatedly for ensuring their well being. He said that it would help in strengthening the social fabric of the country besides giving impetus to its socio-economic development. Sharma envisioned that this workshop would go a long way in enlightening the government officers/ officials towards this direction.
The Deputy Commissioner further said that it was the moral duty of every citizen of the country to strengthen the ethos of communal harmony, brotherhood and peace in the country. He said that the government officers/ official could play an instrumental role in it by redressing the grievances of the minorities in a time bound manner. Mr. Sharma called upon all the officers/ officials to render selfless service to the masses in general and minorities and weaker sections in particular.
On the occasion Regional Director of MGSIPA SP Joshi welcomed the Deputy Commissioner and other dignitaries.
