Jalandhar, November 23, 2019:To mark the proud occasion of National Cadet Corps (NCC) Day, an impressive awareness Cycle Rally at Lyallpur Khalsa College, Jalandhar was taken out against the evil of Drug Abuse.
The rally saw the overwhelming participation of more than 100 cadets of 2PB Battalion. Appreciating the effort, College Principal Dr Gurpinder Singh Samra informed that 23 November is traditionally celebrated as the NCC Day to mark the occasion of raising up of the first NCC Unit at Delhi. Principal Dr. Gurpinder Singh Samra, Commanding Officer Colonel Karan Pathania, Prof. Jasbir Singh Rana and ANO Dr. Karanbir Singh flagged off the rally.
Cadets carrying placards with messages urging the public to make Punjab drug free passed through BSF Chowk, Ladowali Road, District Court Complex, BMC Chowk, Bus Stand Road before culminating at Lyallpur Khalsa College sports grounds. Students created and displayed variety of placards about the disastrous effect of drugs on individual and society’s health and economy. Battalion officials Sub. Avtar Singh, Naib Sub. Amarjit Singh, CMH Parkash Chand, BHM Ranjeet Singh, Sub. Daljeet Singh and other NCC officials also participated in the rally.
