Rampura Phul, February 1, 2019 – S. Gurpreet Singh Kangar, Punjab Minister for Power and New and Renewable Energy Sources, Punjab Government handed over appointment letters to 233 qualified candidates for the posts of Lower Division Clerk in PSPCL in a function held here today. On this occasion, S. Gurpreet Singh Kangar told that already selected candidates for the posts of 2565 no. Assistant Linemen, 80 no. JE’s, 229 no. SSA’s and 7 no. LDC’s have been given appointment letters, which is in line with fulfilling the promise of “Ghar-Ghar Naukri” made by Captain Amarinder Singh, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Punjab. About 800 dependents of those employees of PSPCL who had died in service, have been inducted in job on compassionate ground. While elaborating the achievements of PSPCL, S. Kangar told that in compliance to the directions issued by Capt. Amrinder Singh from time to time, the Corporation is committed to the implementation of consumer-friendly schemes and facilities for the welfare of power consumers. He told that PSPCL has so far collected a revenue of more than Rs. 10,000 crores by digital means, which is 50% of the total receipt. This is a record by itself. In the series of providing more facilities to the electricity consumers, 250 ATM Card swap machines are being installed at the cash counters and in a short span of time, scan system (Bharat IQ Code) is going to be launched.
S. Gurpreet Singh Kangar said that for the accomplishments of PSPCL, apart from its CMD Er. Baldev Singh Sran and all the Directors, the engineers, officers of its Finance department and the employees, all deserve kudos. He apprised that PSPCL had started a key awareness drive among the electricity consumers for payment of bills by digital means, which would bear even better results in the coming days.
He added that the Corporation is supplying 24-hour uninterrupted power to all categories of consumers of Punjab. During the current season of wheat crop, the agriculture power consumers are being supplied 8-hour uninterrupted supply on every alternate day while the vegetable cultivators are getting daily supply for 4½ hours. He said that recently, many consumer-friendly facilities and schemes have been introduced by the Corporation, which includes easy documentation, where needed for change of ownership of rural tubewell connections. Besides this, for agriculture tubewell consumers, “Save Water Earn Money” scheme has been implemented, whose main purpose is conservation of Punjab’s precious water.
On this occasion, Er. Baldev Singh Sran, CMD expressed hope that the newly-inducted employees of PSPCL would contribute significantly to the progress and prosperity of Punjab. Sh. R.P. Pandov, Director/Admin., Er. NK sharma Director- Distribution, Er. OP Garg Director- commercial Er. Kuldeep Garg, Chief Engineer, GNDTP, Bathinda, Er. Lakhwinder Singh, Chief Engineer, GHTP, Lehra Mohabbat, Er. Mukesh Kumar Bansal, Chief Engineer/DS West Zone, Bathinda, higher officers of PSPCL and a large number of employees were present on the occasion.
