CBI ARRESTS KHADI VIKAS & INDUSTRIAL COMMISSION OFFICIAL AND MIDDLEMAN IN BRIBERY CASE

  New Delhi, July 16, 2018: The Central Bureau of Investigation has arrested    Raj Pal, Junior Executive, Khadi Vikas & Industrial Commission, Ambala
(Haryana) (KVIC), Ambala (Haryana) and Ram Niwas Sharma  (middleman) in a bribery case.

A case was registered on a complaint alleging that the complainant had applied for a loan of Rs.5 lakh under PMEGP (Prime Minister Employment Generation Programme) and appeared in the District Secretariat at Kaithal on 11.07.2018 where he was to be interviewed by the concerned Govt. functionaries including the accused. It was further alleged that the Junior Executive of KVIC told the complainant that he should contact the said private for getting his loan sanctioned. Accordingly, it was told that loan would be passed only after paying bribe @ 3% which come to Rs.15000/-. CBI laid a trap in which both the accused were caught while demanding & accepting a bribe of Rs.15,000/-. Searches were conducted at the residence of accused which led to the recovery of certain documents.

The arrested accused are being produced today in the Court of Special Judge, CBI Cases, Panchkula (Haryana).
