Cabinet Minister Rajendra Pal Gautam distributes 15,000 re-usable sanitary napkins*

New Delhi June 14, 2020: On Sunday, Cabinet Minister Shri Rajendra Pal Gautam distributed 15,000 re-usable sanitary napkins in Seemapuri, Sundar Nagri and Nand Nagri Area in Seemapuri Assembly Constituency, and cluster areas of Babarpur, Gokalpur and Rohas Nagar Assembly Constituencies. Along with sanitary napkins, nutritious snacks and biscuits were also distributed to children.

“Women living in clusters and slums, as we know, do not have access to proper sanitization which poses serious health risks, especially during menstruation. Sanitary napkins are not easily accessible to women hailing from lower-income families. That is why we decided to distribute 15000 special sanitary napkins which are reusable for up to 2 years.” – Rajendra Pal Gautam

In May, WCD Minister Shri Rajendra Pal Gautam and DCPCR had launched “Menstrual Hygiene Campaign” in which they distributed 1 lakh sanitary Napkins to women in East and North East Districts of Delhi

Along with sanitary napkins, WCD Minister also distributed nutritious snacks and biscuits to children in various areas of Babarpur, Gokalpur and Rohas Nagar Assembly Constituencies

“The progress of any society can be directly measured with the health of its children. We need to eradicate malnourishment in children. Healthy snacks and proper dietary supplements are essential for a child’s growth and overall development. ” – Rajendra Pal Gautam

During the lockdown, WCD and DCPCR also distributed 8,000 Milk Packets, 50,000 Packs of Nutritious Biscuits and 5000 kgs of nutritious food among children in Delhi.
