Amritsar, November 29, 2023 – Guru Nanak Dev University continues its commitment to environmental awareness and education. Under the visionary leadership of Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Jaspal Singh Sandhu, the university has consistently taken strides towards advancing higher education while fostering environmental consciousness. As part of these efforts, the university is delighted to announce the commemoration of the 151st Birth Centenary of Bhai Vir Singh through the annual Bhai Vir Singh Flower, Plant Show, and Rangoli event, scheduled from December 5th on Birth Day of Bhai Vir Singh to December 07, 2023 in front of the Sri Guru Granth Sahib Bhawan of the University.
This event is a gift to the community and a testament to the university’s dedication to promoting environmental appreciation and education said, Flower Show Incharge Gurvinder Singh and Assistant Professor of Agriculture, Madam Sunaina.
The Flower Show will showcase a vibrant assortment of large and small dahlias nurtured in pots, alongside resplendent potted roses, adding a touch of elegance to the exhibition. Enthusiasts will be treated to an eclectic display of ornamental plants, diverse cacti, and other botanical wonders sure to captivate visitors.
Entries for the competition will be accepted on Tuesday, December 5th. The exhibition will be unveiled on December 6th, with the prize distribution scheduled for December 7th, offering a culmination of this celebratory occasion. An open invitation is extended to the residents of Amritsar and other places, both esteemed guests and the general public, to partake in this three-day festivity at the university premises. Additionally, the event will feature stalls promoting horticulture, organic farming, nurseries, and gardening tools, offering a comprehensive experience for attendees.
