Chandigarh, October 30, 2018 ( By SK.Vyas) : Panjab University, Chandigarh is one of the 25 selected Nodal
Institutes in India under the Scheme for Promotion of Academic and
Research Collaborations (SPARC), an initiative of the MHRD for
improving the eco-system of India’s Higher Education Institutions. An
interaction of the PU colleagues was organized to apprise them of this
scheme and how to go ahead in submitting proposals with their Foreign

maximum. They can collaborate on the common research objectives as per
the submitted SPARC proposal and also teach in the respective
fields/departments/centres. PU Ph.D students/Post-Docs can also visit
under scheme the institute of the Foreign PI and gain from the
collaboration. The funds would be provided to them from this scheme.
About 20 faculty members from various departments participated in this
first interaction and raised many queries and learnt the details of
the scheme. Another interaction would take place soon. Right now the
deadline to submit proposals is 15 November, 2018 but is likely to be
extended. Prof. Vipin Bhatnagar, Physics deptt, PU has been nominated
