Hoshiarpur, June 03, 2018 (By SK.Vyas): In his four years in office, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has provided a government which has taken care of every village, poor, farmer, Dalit, tribal, backward class, youth and woman and has consistently worked towards their welfare. Modi has given a corruption-free, transparent, decisive and a sensitive government, which has taken some tough decisions. Union Minister Vijay Sampla, while talking to reporters in Hoshiarpur stated this here.
Sampla said that the Modi government had put to end the politics of nepotism, casteism and appeasement and had ushered in an era of politics of performance and development. He said that during the Congress regime only scams made the headlines, while during the past four years only development has made the news. Modi has lifted the country out of disillusionment and despair and has provided hope to the people, he said.
The Congress, which ruled the country for most of the years since independence, failed to provide house, electricity, toilets and free health services to very poor. Under the Saubhagya Yojna, Modi government has provided electricity to each village in the country with one crore households receiving the facility and four crore others will have an access in the next one year. With an aim to provide every poor with a house by 2022, one crore homes have been allotted so far. More than 3 crore free gas connections have been distributed under the Ujjawala Yojna while the government aims to provide free gas connections to 8 crore poor households. Besides, 7 crore toilets have been constructed ensuring that the women live with dignity.
In order to provide the benefits directly to the beneficiaries of the 431 welfare schemes of the Union government, Direct Benefit Transfer scheme was started and Rs 3.66 Lac crore have been transferred directly into the bank accounts of the beneficiaries, saving around 83,000 crore.
The Modi government provided the youth with an opportunity to become ‘job creators’ from ‘job seekers’ and started Stand-up, Start-up, Skill India and Mudra schemes so that the youth can get a chance to start their own business. The Mudra Yojna alone has provided easy loans on cheap rates to more than 9 crore people.
Under the Ayushman Bharat Yojna, the Centre government has taken a historic decision to provide 10 crore families or around 50 crore people free health insurance via Namo Health Care. Sampla said that with the Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao scheme sex ratio has improved in 104 districts of the country and this will soon be introduced in other districts. Under the Matri Vandan Yojna pregnant women have been granted maternal leave of 26 weeks. The campaign to get rid of the Triple Talaq was initiated by the Modi government and Muslim women can now perform Hajj without Mehram or male guardian. The pension which is provided to the elderly has been increase significantly, he said.
To improve the financial condition of the farmers the Modi government has accepted their long pending demand decided to provide them a Minimum Support Price (MSP) which is 1.5 times higher than the cultivation cost. The agricultural budget has been almost doubled and new initiatives have been started for the benefit of the farmers. Water has been ensured for every farm under the 50,000 crore Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchai Yona.
Sampla informed that the Modi government has set new records in the area of infrastructure development. Under the Bharatmala project 53,000 kms of highways are being built with an estimated cost of Rs 5,35,000 crore. All the national highways are being made free of railway crossings under the Setubharatam Yojna worth Rs 21,000 crore and it will be completed by 2019. The longest bridge and the longest tunnel have been constructed by the Modi government. The Mumbai-Ahemdabad Bullet train project underlines the success story of the Modi government. The common man has got an opportunity of air travel via the Udaan scheme.
Sampla said that the opposition parties are trying to mislead the people by continuously speaking lies while the BJP, under the leadership of PM Modi, is talking about the agenda of development and stability by removing impediments like corruption and poverty. The family which kept the democracy at bay and indulged in nepotism is today talking about saving the democracy, said Sampla. He further said, the party which threw lakhs behind the bars during emergency is saying that there is an atmosphere of fear in the country. It is ridiculous that the ones who gagged the media are talking about independence of press. While the opposition is trying to create an atmosphere of fear in the country, the nation is standing rock-solid with Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
