Chandigarh, May 09, 2018: The 2 Power lifters from Punjab namely Inderjit Singh and Jasmine Kaur have proved their mettle in the recently held Asian Power lifting Championship at Udaipur by bagging gold medals. The Sports Minister, Punjab, Rana Gurmit Singh Sodhi has congratulated both the players for this exceptional achievement and has credited their coaches as well as parents for the success.
Disclosing this, an official spokesman said that Power lifters from as many as 14 nations competed in the championship. While Inderjit Singh won gold in 105 KG category by lifting 760 KG weight, Jasmine Kaur won gold medal in 84plus KG category by lifting 335 KG weight. Both the power lifters belong to Bhim Akhara Centre in Bathinda where they were trained by coach Parminder Singh.
