Admn distributes 4500 packets among needy

Jalandhar, April 27, 2020:  In order to provide relief to the needy and underprivileged sections of the society amid the curfew imposed to contain the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic, the Jalandhar district administration on Monday distributed 4500 packets of dry ration among them in the district.

Divulging the details, Additional Chief Administrator Jalandhar Development Authority  Navneet Kaur Bal, who was supervising the food packets’ packing and distribution drive of administration, said that these 4500 packets were dispatched to various areas of the district.

            She told that each packet contained 10-kg wheat flour, 2-kg pulses and 2-kg sugar. She stated that the administration was working round the clock to ensure relief to the needy in this hour of crisis.

                She told medical protocols that mandated social distancing besides hand washing frequently with soap or using sanitization, wearing a mask is being maintained in the entire packing and distribution drive.

She told a team of dedicated officers of various departments was permanently deputed for delivering the dry ration amongst the needy and underprivileged sections of society in Jalandhar.

Additional Chief Administrator Jalandhar Development Authority also said that the Punjab government was committed to helping the people in these prevailing conditions and no stone would be left unturned for this noble cause.
