ADC ANNOUNCES IMPLEMENTING THE NATIONAL TRUST ACT FOR DISABILITY 1999 IN THE RIGHT EARNEST

Jalandhar, May 1 2:Additional Deputy Commissioner Dr. Bhupinder Pal Singh today said that district administration would make all out efforts for implementing the National Trust Act for Disability 1999 in the right earnest.

          Chairing a meeting of the Local level committee to implement the act here at the District Administrative Complex, the Additional Deputy Commissioner said that the administration was duty-bound to facilitate the people suffering from any sort of disability. He said that in the absence of legal guardianship rights most of such persons have to face a lot of problems. Dr. Bhupinder Pal Singh said that the there were 4000 people in the district, who have were suffering from various sort of disabilities.

However, the Additional Deputy Commissioner said that unfortunately the parents of these people do not have their legal guardianship. He said that this could create complications for them in future. Dr. Bhupinder Pal Singh said that the district administration would organize special camps for streamlining the process for this purpose. He also said that efforts would also be made to make the NGOs a part of this movement actively to ensure well being of the persons suffering with disability.
