Chandigarh, October 28: Vineet Khurana (Vice President, CAN) hosted the event. The programme incorporated the visionary talks by the veterans in the field of Entrepreneurship. It was centered around start-ups panel discussions, live start-up pitching for raising funding along with the sessions by Mr. Munish Jauhar (Founder CEO Graycell Ventures), Mr. Kunal Nandwani (Founder CEO trade Solutions), JB Singh(Founder Access Infotech), GS Chawla(Director Mastertrust), Manipal Dhariwal(Founder & CEO Netsmartz),Jitin Talwar(Founder & TT Consultants),Varun Rao(MD Leo Packaging & Design),Iqbal Singh(MD IFM Global), Sameer Jain(MD Glassco Laboratory Equipment), Ashish Grover(Cofounder uTrade Solutions) and Jazzy Sihota(Saffron Inc) . 23 investors were invited to invest in start-ups.The event was sponsored by UIET, Panjab University, STPI Mohali, SD Fine Arts and The Gourmet Jar.
It witnessed a myriad of innovative ideas by the young minds seeking funds to establish and enhance a stern stand in the market. Panel discussion on pre-requisites of pitching start-ups, failures the start-up’s face and the consequences they have to bare; proved to be really helpful for the inquisitive minds present there. Start-Ups like Payment(Chandigarh), Jiyoo innovation(Chandigarh) and Playtex(Mumbai) got the chance to pitch their ideas in front of the prestigious investors.
This event was the part of three days, Start-up and Innovation Programme (SIP) which was conducted in UIET from Oct 26 to 28. The first day witnessed the gracious presence of Dr. Nirmaljeet Singh Kalsi, IAS and currently the Additional Chief Secretary(Department of Home Affairs and Justice) of Punjab, Mr. Mandeep S. Kwatra,(Director MS Consulting Circle, London,UK), Mr. VineetKhurana(Vice President CAN) and Mr. Taranjeet Singh Bhamra(Managing Director of next Technologies). It started with a Breakout Workshop by Mr. Mandeep S Kwatra(practitioner and trainer in design thinking ) whose percept was to embark start-ups and innovative ideas to all the budding entrepreneurs. It was followed by interactive sessions by Dr. Dharinder Tayal(Founder Pashan Ventures) and Hardik Dhimija(EDUREV).
The entire event was supervised by Prof Sukhwinder Singh, Dr. Harish Kumar, Dr. MamtaJuneja, and the student charge Vritant Gaur and Mr. Ratul Chawla.
SIP and Cannable together provided a structured pathway to implement ideas in the form of a start-up.
