Chandigarh April 12, 2019: Panjab University, Chandigarh is organizing a series of
functions like seminars, cultural programmes, symposiums, plays,
discussions etc. as part of Jallianwala Bagh Centenary Commemorations
during the session 2019-20 under the patronship of Prof Raj Kumar,
Vice Chancellor, PU.
On the occasion, the family of Shaheed -E – Azam S. Bhagat
Singh will be honored by the University. Mr Abhay Singh, nephew of S.
Bhagat Singh will receive this honour.
Prof Harmohinder Singh Bedi, Chancellor of Himachal Pradesh
Central University will deliver a lecture on Jalianwala Bagh
Massacre .
Dr Navdeep Goyal, Chairman of the organizing Committee
informed that, in this series, a big show is being organized on April
13, 2019 at 10:30am in the University Auditorium, PU, to be presided
over by PU VC Prof Raj Kumar. A cultural programme dedicated to our
martyrs through the musical, dance, theatrical items by the PU
students, will be presented.
This cultural programme is prepared by the students of PU
affiliated Colleges under the coordination of Director Youth Welfare
Dr. Nirmal Jaura in collaboration with the Chandigarh Sangeet Natak
Academy, Chandigarh.
A pledge ceremony will also be organized by NSS and NCC unit of PU.
