Online classes will start from August 1 at Central University Haryana

Alternative arrangements have been made for teaching in new session during corona pandemic

Internal assessment formula also ready, the assessment will take place at four different levels

Mahendragarh, July 16, 2020: For the continuation of teaching-learning and research works during the corona pandemic, the Central University of Haryana (CUH), Mahendergarh, has declared the commencement of online teaching from 1 August onwards. After the declaration of intermediate semester provisional result on 20 July by the university, online mode of teaching based on a new time table will start from 1 August 2020 by various departments. In this context, the Vice-Chancellor of the University Prof. R.C.Kuhad says that previously also in the month of March when direct offline classes were not conducted, the curriculum of the previous semester was completed via online classes and students were not made to suffer in their studies. Being steadfast in our goals, we shall again start our classes from 1 August 2020onwards after the declaration of intermediate semester results on coming 20 July 2020.

Along with the Vice-Chancellor, Deans of various schools and senior officials of the University,a detailed discussion in this regard has taken place where they unanimously agreed to the online conduction of classes in the present situation. Dean Academics Prof. Sanjiv Kumar; Dean, School of Law Prof. Rajesh Malik; Dean, School of Basic Sciences Prof. Deepak Pant; Dean, School of Interdisciplinary and Applied Sciences Prof. Satish Kumar; Dean, Student Welfare Prof. Dinesh Gupta; Controller of Examination Dr. VipulYadav, Dean, School of Business and Management Studies Dr. Anand Sharma; Dean, School of Engineering and Technology Dr. Ajay Kumar Bansal; Dean, School of Education Dr. Pramod Kumar; Assistant Registrar, Examinations DepartmentSunder Lal Sharma have been present in the meeting. Considering the different guidelines issued by the Human Resource Development Department and University Grants Commission, it has been unanimously decided that teaching should continue via available alternative methods during the threat of the corona pandemic. All agreed to make every possible effort at the departmental level to resolve the problems faced by the students during online teaching. Besides a framework of internal assessment was also chalked out. According to the framework, 25% for Writing Skills, 25% for Analytical skills, 25% for Subject Understanding and 25% are assigned for presentation. Thus evaluation will take place at four levels, each carrying equal weightage.

It becomes necessary to mention here that the Central University of Haryana, during this corona pandemic, is continuously working on options through which education of students can take place at home when face to face offline teaching has become impossible. To make it possible, online classes, audio, video lecture, PPT presentation, SWAYAM, e-PGPATHSHALA, Learning Management System etc. options are brought in use. The teachers of the university are also making continuous efforts in this initiative and are taking appropriate online training for making online teaching feasible. In the words of Vice-Chancellor of the University Prof. R.C.Kuhad,“in addition to the health safety of the students, their safe future is also necessary, thus incessant teaching program with available online resources is going to start from 1 August as per the new time.
