MRS-PTU offers ‘Enrol Here, Study Aboard’ Courses

MOGA, June 2, 2019: Updating itself with the changing trends in the era where youth aspiring to study abroad, Punjab Government established Maharaja Ranjit Singh-Punjab Technical University (MRS-PTU),Bathinda has come up with it’s new “Enrol here, Study Abroad” programme under which a student after studying here for three years will complete the five-year course in the foreign country.

While addressing a press conference at Desh Bhagat Group of Institutions (DBGI) here on Friday, MRS-PTU Vice-Chancellor Professor (Dr) Mohan Paul Singh Ishar said education should be modernised and brought in tune with the changing trends.

He said that under its robust international exchange programmes for the bright future of the younger generation of the state, the University has signed Memorandum of Understandings (MOU) for academic partnership, students and teachers exchange, joint research programmes with leading foreign Universities.

Universities include Thompson Rivers University (Canada), Concordia University of Edmonton (Canada), University Canada West, Vancouver (Canada), Vancouver Island University (Canada), Norquest College Canada, Wayne State University (USA), INSEEC University, France, Synergy University (Russia) and many other foreign Institutes.

VC Ishar said that they are offering credit transfer study based courses which means the student after completing three years study here will continue his/her study acceding to the same syllabus, which was compiled on the international studies pattern. He said that after completing the remaining two years of study in the respective country, the students will be eligible for a three-year work permit.

The University has taken bold initiative under the leadership of Punjab Technical Education Minister, Mr Charanjeet Singh Channi keeping in view the increasing passion of Punjabi youth to embark study abroad.

The University has been offering several courses in the field of Information Technology (IT) and Computer Sciences including BCA, B. Tech. CSE and B.Tech. to facilitate aspiring youths, who are craving for study aboard.

The University offers a wide array of courses in Science and Technology, Management, Architecture, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Food Technology, Computer Applications, Skill Certification courses, newer teaching and research programmers as well as Ph.D in all disciplines.

Keeping in view the fastest growing aviation industry, The University also started new degree level courses at Punjab State Aeronautical Engineering College, Patiala, B. Tech (Aeronautical Engineering), B.Tech Aerospace (Avionics) and in Main Campus-B.Tech Mechatronics from the academic session 2019-20.

VC Ishar also lauded the Punjab Government for generating jobs and giving Entrepreneurship opportunities to the youths by organising Mega Job Fairs under its “Ghar Ghar Rozgar Yojna” and various youth-oriented policies.

Meanwhile, MRS-PTU has become first Government Technical University having UGC approval under 12B of University Grants Commission (UGC) Act for getting liberal central grants. MRS-PTU is also a Member Association of Indian Universities. Punjab Government has been developing MRSPTU as Model University in the state.

On the occasion, MRS-PTU Dean Academic and Campus Director Dr Savina Bansal, Director College Development Council Dr Ashok Goel, Punjab Unaided Technical Institutes Union  (MRSPTU-PUTIA) president and DBGI Group Chairman Devinder Pal Singh, MRSPTU Director, Public Relations Harjinder Sidhu, PIT-GTB Garh Moga Director Dr Amit Manocha were present.
