Ferozepur, February 20, 2020: Member, National Commission for Safai Karamcharis, Manju Diler while reviewing the cleanliness problems of the district with the Executive Officers and safai karamcharis and the facilities extended to them by the district administration said, the safai karamcharis should not work within sewerage in the absence of required types of equipment. Deputy Commissioner, Kulwant Singh was also present on this occasion.
The National Commission for Safai Karamcharis seeks to study, evaluate and monitor the implementation of various schemes meant for the welfare of safai karamcharis.
Talking to safai karamchairs, Diler asked about the facilities being extended to them while working inside the sewerage. She told not to go inside the sewerage without proper infrastructure. However, two more machines will be provided to work inside the sewerage shortly, said Diler.
Meanwhile, Manju Daler instructed all Executive Officers to carry out regular medical checkups and put them wiser about the various government welfare schemes for the safety of the cleaning staff besides organizing camps from time to time. He also advised the E.O’s to provide her with the complete data of staff and fill all the vacant posts due to the death of certain safai karamcharis immediately and give due promotion to such staff.
Safai karamcharis protect us from diseases like Army on the borders: Kulwant Singh Speaking on the occasion, Deputy Commissioner Kulwant Singh said that safai karamcharis protect us by keeping the surroundings clean to save us from any diseases like the army on the border. He said that since these are an important part of our society and the required facilities will be made available to them on a priority basis.
