New Delhi, November 3, 2019: Environment, Revenue and Transport Minister Mr Kailash Gahlot on Sunday
inspected the ongoing training and briefing of 5,000 Civil Defence
Volunteers across Delhi ahead of the beginning of the Odd-Even traffic
the scheme on Monday.
A day-long training and briefing of Civil Defence volunteers who will be
deployed across Delhi for smooth implementation of the Odd-Even from 4th
to 15 November is being conducted in all revenue districts on Sunday.
Kailash Gahlot joined the session at the Dwarka Sector 22 DTC depot,
along with the District Magistrate of South West District and another senior
officers.
The minister said: “Training and briefing of around 5,000 Civil Defence
Volunteers are being conducted in all Revenue Districts in Delhi today. DMs,

ADMs, SDMs and Tehsildars along with Wardens and Chief Wardens of all
Districts are participating in this programme.”
Gahlot said jackets, placards and other relevant material has been
handed over to these volunteers, which is required for their duties during
the Odd-Even.
The minister said: “Civil Defence Volunteers played an important role
during the last Odd-Even programmes in Delhi. They assist the Traffic
Police and guide the public. The government recognises and admires their
role.”
Civil Defence volunteers will be deployed at all traffic intersections and
roads busy roads in shifts for the assistance of Traffic Police so that
people do not face any difficulty during the Odd-Even between 4th to 15th
November.
