No Station Leave To Be Allowed
Nawanshahr, March 19, 2020: Industry Minister Sunder Sham Arora today took stock of the emergency situation arose after the death of an old aged person with the history of travelling to German and Italy.
” There is no need to get panic, the state government is capable to overcome the situation. Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh is keeping a close watch on the situation and he has sent him to Nawanshahr especially. He exhorts the residents of the district to follow the advisories issued by the state government to stop the spread of COVID-19 viz. avoid close contact, wash hand regularly with soap or sanitizers, cover your nose and mouth with tissue or cough and sneeze into your flexed elbow and maintain a distance of minimum one meter from each other, etc.
Arora who is also Chairman of District Grievances Redressal Committee interacts with MLA Angad Singh, DC Vinay Bublani, SSP Alka Meena and Civil Surgeon Dr. Rajinder Bhatia and asked to follow the protocol suggested under Containment Plan. Deputy Commissioner apprised him of the precautionary measures taken after the death of Mohinder Singh (70 Years). He said that all the entry points of the village have been sealed and only one entry and exit point is functional. Nobody would be allowed to go outside. Similarly, the entry would also be selective and only essential commodities would be allowed. District Administration has arranged fodder, dry ration besides un-interrupted power and water supply. Contact Persons and family members have been medically checked upon and put on at home isolation.
Industry Minister directed that no officer be allowed to leave the station and identify even the number of isolation wards in case of emergency.
He directed civil surgeons to keep ready the medical teams for round the clock and procure/purchase if need any medical equipment. He assured us to provide every possible help.
He also made an appeal to the people not to create hustle and bustle by hoarding essential commodities and purchase only need-based grocery items.
