Jalandhar November 25,2019 : On the directions issued by Naunihal Singh, Inspector General of Police, Jalandhar Range, Jalandhar and Navjot Singh Mahal, Senior Superintendent of Police, Jalandhar (Rural) and under the guidance of Ravinder Pal Singh Sandhu, SP/Headquarters, Sarbjit Singh Bahia, PPS, SP/Investigation and Ranjit Singh, PPS, DSP/Detective, a special drive has been launched against narcotic smugglers and anti social elements. The Jalandhar police received a major success when due to strenuous efforts of Inspr. Shiv Kumar, In-charge CIA, SI Surinder Singh alongwith police party while conducting investigation of arrested accused Gurdit Singh @ Geeta conducted raid on nominated accused Bachitter Singh and recovered 01 KG 700 GM Heroin, 01 Truck, 01motorcycle and 01 Welding Set.
While addressing the press media, Navjot Singh Mahal, PPS, SSP/Jalandhar (Rural) intimated that case FIR No. 88 dated 25-06-2019 u/s 15 NDPS Act was registered in PS Kartarpur, district Jalandhar (Rural) in which 02 accused namely Bhajan Lal and Sandeep Singh @ Deepu were arrested and from their possession one truck bearing registration No. HP-38-F-2852 was recovered.
A special cabin was fabricated at floor level of the said truck from which 400 KG of Poppy Husk was recovered. During the course of investigation, the arrested persons revealed that the said consignment of poppy husk belongs to Gurdit Singh @ Geeta and his partner Parmatma Singh s/o Jagir Singh r/o Saicha, PS Sultanpur Lodhi, district Kapurthala. Both were nominated in the case and were PO in the said case. Furthermore, case FIR No. 159 dated 22-06-2015 u/s 15 NDPS Act was registered in PS Shahkot in which accused Anwar s/o Chhinder Pal, Balbir Singh @ Beera and Daljit Singh s/o Mansha Singh were arrested and from them 01 truck bearing registration No. RJ-13GA-3076, 01 Swift Car bearing registration No. PB-02-BM-0913 and 648 KG of poppy husk was recovered. During the course of investigation, the arrested persons revealed that this consignment of poppy husk belongs to Gurdit Singh @ Geeta and Lakhvir Singh.
The trio have since been convicted by the court. Lakhvir Singh has been arrested in the said case and case is under trial in the court. Gurdit Singh @ Geeta was continuing as PO in the said case. On 22-11-2019 SI Surinder Singh of CIA Staff, Jalandhar (Rural) alongwith police party arrested Gurdit Singh @ Geeta r/o Saicha, PS Sultanpur Lodhi, district Kapurthala and recovered 54 KG Poppy Husk, 09 lac Rupees Indian Currency (Drug Money) and 01 Innova Car from him.
In this regard case FIR No. 193 dated 22-11-2019 u/s 15/25 NDPS Act was registered in PS Kartarpur, district Jalandhar (Rural). During the course of investigation, he admitted that with the drug money he purchased trucks out of which one truck was apprehended by the police PS Shahkot in which 200 KG poppy husk was recovered, whereas one truck was apprehended by the police of PS Nagrota, J&K. In this regard case FIR No. 92 dated 13-03-2019 u/s 15 NDPS Act was registered in PS Nagrota, district Udham Singh Nagar, J&K. One truck bearing registration No. RJ-31-GA-3901 which was parked in the area of Jalalabad has been recovered, whereas 01 truck alongwith poppy husk was apprehended by the police of PS Kartarpur on 25-06-2019 in which he fabricated a special cabin at the floor level of truck from one Kamaljit Singh @Bagga s/o Jarnail Singh r/o village Saicha which he used for smuggling of poppy husk. He further supplies the consignments of poppy husk to one Bachitter Singh s/o Kulwant Singh r/o village Latiawal, PS Sultanpur Lodhi, district Kapurthala for selling the same. ON the basis of his revelation, SI Surinder Singh alongwith police party during the investigation of case FIR No. 193 dated 22-11-2019 u/s 15/25 NDPS Act, PS Kartarpur reached Gate Chachowal, one motorcycle bearing registration No. PB-09-K-6114 on the handle of which 01 bag was dangling being driven by Bachitter Singh was seen coming. SI Surinder Singh stopped his govt. vehicle and signaled him to stop, but he left the motor cycle and ran into the fields.
The police party tried to apprehend him but he managed to escape. The search of the bag dangling on the handle of the motor cycle bearing registration No. PB-09-K-6114 was conducted which led to recovery of 01 KG 700 GM of Heroin, Driving Licence No. PB-41-20190000470 issued in the name of Bachitter Singh and 01 Passport No. T-9164145 issued also in the name of Bachitter Singh. In this regard case FIR No. 133 dated 24-11-2019 u/s 21 NDPS Act was registered in PS Lohian and preliminary investigation was conducted. It is worth mentioning here that the Special Cell of Delhi Police apprehended his brother Charanjit Singh s/o Kulwant Singh r/o village Latiawal, PS Sultanpur Lodhi and recovered 05 KG of Heroin. In this regard case FIR No. 64 dated 02-09-2017 u/s 21 NDPS Act was registered in Special Cell, Delhi.
During the course of investigation of case FIR No. 193 dated 22-11-2019 u/s 15/25 NDPS Act, as per the revelation of Gurdit Singh @ Geeta the truck bearing registration No. RJ-31-GA-3901, which has been recovered from Jalalabadand the welding set which was used by Kamaljit Singh for fabrication of special cabin at the floor level of truck bearing registration No. HP-38-F-2852 has been recovered from the house of Kamaljit Singh, but Kamaljit is absconding and all out efforts are being made to arrest him.
