
Chandigarh, July 15, 2018 (By TNL Bureau): The sleuths of Haryana’s Special Task Force ( STF) today arrested a Himachal Pradesh resident and recovered 4.880 kilograms Charas including one kg charas from Aashirwad Hotel Delhi. The police team also seized one i-20 car used in transporting the narcotics.
While stating this here today, a spokesman of Police Department said that arrested accused had been identified as Jitender, a native of Karsog, district Mandi in Himachal Pradesh.
On getting secret information, he said that STF team has nabbed the accused from the area of Police Station, Rai in Sonepat along with 3.880-kilogram charas and i20 car. After interrogation of arrested accused Jitender, about one-kilogram Charas had also been recovered from Aashirwad Hotel Delhi according to his disclosure statement.
He said that Police is investigating the case to find out more details from the arrested person and his links with the drug mafia. Possibility on the involvement of an international drug mafia cannot be ruled out. He said that a case under NDPS Act has been registered and further investigation was taken up.
Meanwhile, Director General of Police, B.S. Sandhu appreciated the efforts made by STF, which is cracked down heavily on drug mafia and criminals. He also congratulated STF Chief IG Saurabh Singh, DIG STF, Sateesh Balan and team and added that drug dealers would be severely dealt with as per law in the state. Police are achieving major success while continuing its war against the drug menace across the state, he added.
