Further evolve transparent, accountable, responsive and people friendly environment in passport office to facilitate applicants

Jalandhar, January 8, 2020:   Deputy Commissioner Jalandhar Varinder Kumar Sharma today expressed hope that the process of issuing passports to the residents of the district would be further streamlined with the joining of the new Regional Passport Officer in Jalandhar.

Interacting with the newly appointed Regional Passport Officer Raj Kumar Bali, who called on the Deputy Commissioner at his office in the District Administrative Complex in the afternoon, the Deputy Commissioner said that since Doaba region was the hub of NRIs so the passport office in Jalandhar has a major role to play.

He said that Punjabis in general and people residing in Doaba region, in particular, have a huge fad for going abroad due to which Regional Passport Officer has a huge responsibility. Mr. Sharma said that it was a  matter of great pride and the satisfaction that the passport office has been playing its role well by rendering marvelous service to the people.

The Deputy Commissioner hoped that with the joining of new Regional Passport Officer the things would further improve in the passport office and people would be able to get better services in a time-bound manner.

He asked Mr. Bali to further evolve a transparent, accountable, responsive and people-friendly environment to facilitate the applicants in the passport office so that they do not face any the problem in getting their works done. Mr. Sharma assured fulsome support and cooperation to the Regional Passport Officer for imparting valuable service to the people efficaciously.

Reiterating the firm the commitment of his office for imparting quality service to the people, the new Regional Passport Officer said that no stone would be left unturned for this noble cause.

He said that the Regional Passport Office caters to need of applicants from Jalandhar, Hoshiarpur, Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar, Kapurthala, Pathankot, Gurdaspur, Moga district and Police district Batala adding that every effort would be made to facilitate the people from these districts.
