Flower and Plants Exhibition inaugurated at Guru Nanak Dev University

Amritsar, March 10, 2018 ( By TNL Bureau) :  Flower and Plants Exhibition was inaugurated at Guru Nanak Dev University. This exhibition was second time organized by University to associate students with nature and to promote floriculture and plantation in the society. This exhibition was organized due to the efforts of Vice-Chancellor Professor Jaspal Singh Sandhu. In the exhibition, there are 82 types of followers, 26 types of Rangolis and 10 types of stalls relating to agriculture are displayed. Prof. K.S. Kahlon, Registrar and Members of UPE Team were also present on this occasion.

Professor Jaspal Singh Sandhu said that we all need to respect and love nature. He said that this type of effort needed to be promoted more to associate our youth with nature and environment. He said that the collective efforts of students and colleges to collect plant and flower for an exhibition show their interest in this field. He said that in future more exhibitions would be organized in this field to associate youth with nature

Dr. J S Bilga, Horticulture consultant said that a large number of flower lovers from all over Punjab participated in the exhibition and competition. He said that Dr. Avtar Singh an eminent personality of Horticulture would deliver his lecture on the subject to enrich the knowledge of flower lovers.

On March 11, Seminar will be held at 10.00 AM at Guru Nanak Bhawan and Inauguration of the exhibition will be at 12.30 PM on the same day and Exhibition will be open for public from 1.00 PM to 06.00 PM. Similarly, on March 12, the Exhibition will continue for the public from 09.00 AM to 05.00 PM and Prize Distribution function will be held at 3.00 PM in the Guru Nanak Bhawan of the University.
