Ex-Army Officials and LIP join hands to fight drug abuse

Ferozepur, June 27, 2018:  Ex-Army officials and Lok Insaf Party-LIP, have joined hands to fight drug abuse by visiting door-to-door in villages of raising awareness of the major social challenges that result from illicit drugs.

The joint venture also aimed at cracking the nexus of drugs and smuggling between the elected representatives and police administration to shun the drug menace.

Telling the tale of her son addict for the last five years, a resident of Purba village in Ferozepur, Kashmir Kaur who had already lost her five kids, said, he managed the injection dose by taking Rs.500 from me and entered the bathroom.  Later on, he was immediately taken to the hospital by breaking the door of the bathroom from where he has returned with the new life.

She also made an appeal to the government to intensify the fight against the drugs to save the youths of Punjab, irrespective of any cast, creed and political significance.

She also appealed to the police to put a complete check on the drug addicts and suppliers without any comprising by taking the bribes.

The parents to openly come forward openly for admitting the drug addicted family member in the de-addiction centre to bring him out from this drug hazard, she advised.

Speaking to the media persons, Charan Singh Kirti Chakra Awardee and other said, we have decided not to give any memorandum to the political leaders and administration. Rather, we will create awareness by visiting villages for door-to-door campaign and expose the nexus.

As part of the campaign, the youths will be encouraged to participate in a wide range of workshops and seminars to promote awareness of the adverse impact of drugs.

Realizing this, the retired army officials and LIP have joined hands to cut the supply chain, treat the addicts and motivate the youths to shun drugs.
