MOVE AIMED AT PERPETUATING GLORIOUS CULTURAL HERITAGE OF STATE TO YOUNGER GENERATIONS- DC
Jalandhar, January 28, 2020: In order to acquaint the younger generations about the rich cultural heritage of the state, the district administration would organize Basant festival at the local Virsa Vihar on Wednesday.
Divulging the details, The Deputy Commissioner Varinder Kumar Sharma said that the event would aptly showcase the rich socio-cultural heritage of the state.
He said that this mega event would be a humble effort by the district administration to connect the youth of the district with the glorious heritage of the state.
The Deputy Commissioner said that the competitions of Folk Songs, Bhangra, Gidha, Kite flying competition, Painting besides exhibition of Punjabi culture would also be organized.
Sharma said that during the festival, stalls for the entertainment of children, food and games would be installed.
Secretary of District Cultural and Literary Society Captain Inderjeet Singh Dhami said that the several Colleges and schools have been participating in this festival.
