DISTRICT ADMINISTRATION GEARS UP FOR THE BIGGEST CAREER FEST IN JALANDHAR

Jalandhar, November 20,2019: Deputy Commissioner Jalandhar Mr. Varinder Kumar Sharma today said that the sixth edition of SPARK Career Guidance Mela 2019 being organized by the district administration on December 19-20 would act as a catalyst to provide vital career related guidance to the students.

Presiding over a meeting to review preparedness of the event here at his District Administrative Complex today, the Deputy Commissioner said that the two day mega event, being organized at precincts of Guru Gobind Singh Stadum, would be a perfect blend of academics and extra-curricular activities, which would focus on perpetuating the glorious legacy of the state. He said that the Mela would not only include the speeches and imperative guidance by career experts of various streams but would also include a series of cultural events by the students. Mr. Sharma said that it would help in keeping the students abreast about the emerging trends for choosing a right career on one hand and connecting them with the rich cultural heritage of the state on the other.

The Deputy Commissioner said that more than 30,000 students from across the district were expected to take part in this fest. He said that besides giving a major push to career related guidance this fest would ensure holistic personality development of the students. Mr. Sharma asked the officers to ensure that major thrust of the event was to ensure quality career guidance to the students, who were on threshold for pursuing their further studies to choose a career.

          On the occasion Additional Deputy Commissioners Mr. Kulwant Singh and Mr. Jasbir Singh, Deputy Commissioner of Police Mr. Arun Saini, Sub Divisional Magistrates Mr. Amit Kumar, Mr. Rahul Sindhu, Mr. Sanjiv Sharma, Dr Jai Inder Singh and Mr. Vineet Kumar, Assistant Commissioners Dr. Shayari Malhotra and Mr. Rs Gill, District Education Officer Mr. Harvinder Pal Singh. District Guidance Counselor Mr. Surjit Lal, Secretary Red Cross Mr. Paramjit Singh, Director Lovely Group Mr. Naresh Mittal, Director St. Soldier Group Dr. Manhar Arora  and others were also present.
