Jalandhar, November 30 2017-: Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Jasbir Singh
today said that the district administration would felicitate the youth
clubs making strenuous efforts for weaning away the younger generation
from the curse of drugs.
Presiding over a meeting of District Advisory Committee of
Nehru Yuva Kendra on Youth Programs here at District Administrative
Complex, the Additional Deputy Commissioner said that youth clubs were
doing exemplary work in channelizing the unbounded energy of the youth
in a positive direction. He said that some of the youth clubs of the
district have done commendable work towards wiping out the curse of
drugs from the district. Mr. Jasbir Singh said that to recognize these
efforts the administration would honor these youth clubs.
The Additional Deputy Commissioner also batted for
constructive use of the youth energy in Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, Beti
Bachao Beti Padhao campaign and others. Recalling the stellar role of
Youth Club and Nehru Yuva Kendra in providing right direction to the
youth, he said that these were the right platforms for grooming of
youngsters. Mr. Jasbir Singh said that both the youth clubs and the
Nehru Yuva Kendra has been instrumental in inculcating the spirit of
leadership, nationalism, humanity, and service amongst the youngsters.
He said that the youth clubs and Nehru Yuva Kendra was playing a key
role in nation building by polishing the youth as good citizens and
future leaders.
Earlier, the District Youth Coordinator of the Nehru Yuva
Kendra Samson Masih welcomed all the members of the Advisory
committee to the meeting. He also apprised the members about the
ongoing activities of the Nehru Yuva Kendra for personality
development of the youth.
