Delhi’s recovery rate is 88%; only 9% are ill: Arvind Kejriwal

CM Arvind Kejriwal said that on one hand, where the cases of Corona across the world are rising exponentially, the Corona cases in Delhi are declining at a consistent rate. “Our recovery rate is 88% and the rate of active cases in Delhi is only 9%, which means that out of 100 Corona infected people in Delhi, only 9 people are currently infected and 88 people have recovered, and around 2-3% people have lost their lives. The most important thing is that the number of people who lost their lives has seen a drastic decline in the last few days. Yesterday, there were just 21 deaths, and this figure used to be more than 100 in June. Earlier, a sample testing collection of 100 people showed 35 of them to be positive, which has now come down to only 5 people testing positive. The positivity ratio has also seen a huge decline. Right now, there are around 15500 beds in the hospitals across Delhi, out of which only 2800 beds are occupied and 12500 beds remain vacant,” added the CM.

He said, “In June, we were at the 2nd position in terms of Corona cases in Delhi. Today, your Delhi is at the 10th position. When the situation got much worse in June, we did not lose hope, did all the planning, talked to experts and with cooperation from all, the people of Delhi have collectively worked to control Corona in Delhi. I want to appeal to the people again, please do not be complacent. Please use masks, we do not know when the Corona may strike again.”
